I am writing a thesis about first expeditions to Canadian North and first observations of the Inuit. Have you ever read George Best. If yes, I am just curious, what do you think about him and his study, and entirely about Frobisher expedition to Baffin Island. Just your impression, may be something you remember, something that caught your attention.

Well, I thought that Frobisher Bay/Iqaluit was a nice place to live :)

Haven't read Best, but I know a fair amount about earlier exploration of the Arctic and the Inuit...

I spent a bit more than a week in Iqaluit tihs September. What do you mean "earlier exploration" of the Arctic? Norses, Vikings, Cabot?

I lived in Iqaluit when it was still called Frobisher bay :-P

I should have been a little more explicit I suppose...more European Exploration than anything (Hudson, Cabot, Frobisher, MacKenzie etc)

That is interesting! I liked Iqaluit very much, and I noticed that White Canadians are attracted by Nunavut and Iqaluit)) George Best was one of Frobisher`s capitains. He commanded one of the ships and wrote interesting Description of the Country.
